(Don’t Look)
Behind You!
What’s my favorite scary movie?
Halloween, the original 1978 version. The establishing shots, the foreboding music, the ratcheting suspense …
… all lead up to explosive moments of terror!
People, places and things are not always what they seem. Horror movies allow us a chance to see the world, other people and even ourselves face impossible and terrifying change, all from the safe distance of the screen.
The ‘80s are my favorite run of horror movies.
I would pace the racks of my local videostore, more often than not selecting a scary movie based on its VHS cover. These pieces are dedications to my favorite of the decade, showcasing moments so utterly horrific I could not look away.
A unique Double Feature.
Some of these pieces are anaglyphs: two corresponding yet offset illustrations contrasted in cyan and red, often viewed through “3D glasses”. It was a fun challenge to create this using traditional methods, and a delight to watch viewers unlock the hidden, horrific images within.
